HLG Correction LUT Pack for Sony

This is a collection of 2 custom LUTs I created to help quickly achieve usable footage with your HLG2 clips! Each LUT can be dropped straight onto your footage or adjusted to get the look just right!

After applying the LUT you can adjust the temperature, highlights, shadows, contrast and saturation to get the best results out of your footage/scene. I created these to be a great starting point for my edits, so that after applying the LUT, I could simply adjust the temperature of the clips to create consistent and polished films.

* These LUTs were made for Sony’s HLG2 Picture Profile. While it may work for other types of HDR footage/profiles, it works the best/easiest with the HLG2 profile when using the settings I provide.

* When shooting in HLG or HDR footage, most editors will need your timeline colorspace to be manually set or "overridden" to be placed back into a Rec709 Colorspace. Once you switch the colorspace your footage should look just as you saw it in camera. In my youtube video, I do show how to do this in Final Cut, but it may be a little different for you, depending on your editor.

RECOMMENDED CAMERA SETTINGS
To get the best results with these LUTs, these are the camera settings I recommend:

Gama: HLG2
Color Mode: 709

RUN & GUN GUIDE FOR EXPOSING
For these LUTs to give you the best conversion results, expose your footage balanced (when your camera's light meter sits right at 0). Then, this will lay on your footage nicely and give you a great starting point for your color grade!

*Compatible with all editing programs that use LUTs. Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, etc.
